“Thank you very much for all the hard work and thought that went into this course. I really enjoyed the classes, which were fun, informative and really well run. The small class size was perfect, allowing lots of student-teacher interaction and guidance from Rebecca and Sandy. I hope you will be scheduling many more courses with Sandy and Rebecca, both extremely accomplished artists, who make a great teaching team and are a lot of fun”.

“It was an absolutely fab day, yesterday. Thank you very much for sharing the Linnean Society and running such an inspiring workshop. I’ve bought paintbrushes and a Maria Merian biography….. and booked the Christmas card workshop! See you in November and thank you again”.

I had a wonderful welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my art classes.  Excellent tuition, atmosphere, plus a great opportunity to see the treasures of the library. It was all beautifully organised, and I can’t wait to return”.

“Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed the art classes.  Sad to be able to do only two but much looking forward to another chance to draw from life with such great tutors.  Learnt lots and it was very good fun too”.

“The art classes were exactly right: well conceived, pitched at the right level, encouraging and inspiring. I learned a great deal and would certainly come again as there is so much more to discover in a field that was quite new to me. The venue was just right – calming and conducive to close study. I know some people thought the room too hot, but it was fine for me. I thought the interaction between the art teaching team (both of whom were generous, warm and very knowledgeable) and the experts at the Linnean Society added a great deal to the experience. It was a great treat to be let into the vault. One also had a sense of lots of other interesting things going on in the building which gave a lot of life to what could be thought of as an archive of dead things, and I liked that. All in all, I’m 100% positive and can’t think of anything that could improve the experience – except extending it by half an hour as clearing up seemed to come too soon after lunch”.

Dear Sandy and Rebecca,

I enjoyed the two days thoroughly despite the sauna-like weather especially on Thursday.  Both of you were very forthcoming and generous in your time and guidance in aiding us in tackling the many varied objects artistically – was top class!

Once again, thanks very much and I hope to join one of your classes in the Linnean Society in the future.

Warmest wishes,

Theresa
